Terms of Service
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of PDF Dark Mode at pdfdarkmode.org. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
Last updated: May 14, 2026
Use of the Service
PDF Dark Mode provides browser-based tools for reading PDFs in dark mode and for generating downloadable dark mode PDF files. The service is provided for lawful personal, educational, and professional use.
You are responsible for the files you choose to open or convert and for making sure you have the right to use those files. You must not use the service in a way that violates copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other legal rights.
Local Processing and Your Files
The reader and converter are designed to process PDF files locally in your browser. We do not claim ownership of your documents, and we do not upload your PDF files for reading or conversion.
Because the tools run in the browser, performance may depend on your device, browser, PDF size, and PDF structure. You are responsible for keeping your own backup copies of original and converted files.
No Account or Storage Service
PDF Dark Mode is not a cloud storage service, backup service, or document management system. The site does not provide an account where your PDF files are stored. If you close or refresh the page, the active PDF session may be cleared.
Acceptable Use
- Do not use PDF Dark Mode for illegal activity or to violate the rights of others.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or abuse the website or its infrastructure.
- Do not use automated requests in a way that harms availability for other users.
- Do not represent that PDF Dark Mode endorses your content, service, or organization without permission.
Converted PDFs
The download tool creates a new PDF in your browser by rendering pages with selected dark colors. In some files, selectable text, search, links, forms, annotations, or other interactive PDF features may not be preserved in the converted PDF.
Color conversion may also change how images, charts, highlights, stamps, signatures, or brand colors appear. You should review converted documents before relying on them, sharing them, printing them, or using them in important workflows.
Privacy Policy
Your use of PDF Dark Mode is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how the site handles local PDF processing, support emails, technical information, cookies, and local storage.
No Professional Advice
PDF Dark Mode is a document viewing and conversion tool. It does not provide legal, financial, medical, academic, or other professional advice. You are responsible for how you use documents opened or generated with the service.
Availability and Changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of PDF Dark Mode at any time. We may also update features, themes, pages, or technical behavior to improve the service.
Disclaimer
PDF Dark Mode is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every PDF, or suitable for every purpose. We do not guarantee that converted files will match the original document exactly.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF Dark Mode and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities arising from use of the service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The updated terms will be posted on this page with a new last updated date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
